Establish and manage nucleus and multiplier herds of Khari and Boer goats at the national level.

Maintain the breed purity of Khari goats (Pure Line Maintenance).

Develop and disseminate technologies to increase goat productivity.

Implement external genetic resource development programs using the latest technologies in goat development.

Support the management of goat genetic biodiversity at the national level by conserving, promoting, and utilizing Khari goats through both in-situ and ex-situ methods.

Collaborate with the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC), universities, and national and international institutions to conduct various studies, research, and technology dissemination related to goat development.

Coordinate with the National Livestock Resource Management and Promotion Office on issues related to goat development and work in partnership with local and provincial levels.

Conduct on-site practical training, workshops, seminars, and other programs at the national level to build capacity in various aspects of goat farming.

Maintain records, perform data analysis, and publish findings related to goats under the center and external genetic resource development programs.

Adopt and expand the latest technologies related to animal nutrition at the national level.

Increase species of forage and develop and expand grazing areas.
